Entry Rules

The following are the rules for the 20th Annual Colorado Awards for Remodeling Excellence (CARE) program presented by the Custom Builder & Remodeler Council(CBRC) of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver(HBA). This is the largest awards program in Colorado to focus exclusively on the remodeling industry. Each year this program recognizes excellence in design and construction of residential and light commercial remodeling and renovation projects. Entrants need not be a member of the HBA to enter, although additional recognition and discounts are available for HBA members. See category list for details on discounts and recognition.

JUDGING

A jury of professionals in the remodeling and renovation industry will select the winners. There is no minimum or maximum number of awards for each category. Judges may move an entry to the secondary category. Judges may choose not to award in any category. Decisions of judges are final.

Judging criteria will include:

  • Strength of design ideas
  • Aesthetic and market appeal
  • Sensitivity to existing structure
  • Appropriate use of existing building elements
  • Function and flow
  • Craftsmanship
  • Overall presentation and compliance with entry requirements

THE AWARDS

Winning projects will be honored at the Awards Reception on September 28th at CU South Denver, formerly The Wildlife Experience. Winning projects will receive plaques for all paid participants. All award winning entries will be exhibited throughout the year at Remodelers Council functions as well as other appropriate venues. The award-winning projects will be posted on the website at www.thecareawards.com. Press releases and photos of winning projects will be shared via local, national and social media.
