Entry Rules

Entrants need not be a member of the HBA to enter, although additional recognition and discounts are available for HBA members. See category list for details on discounts and recognition.

A jury of professionals in the remodeling and renovation industry will select the winners. There is no minimum or maximum number of awards for each category. Judges may move an entry to the secondary category. Judges may choose not to award in any category. Decisions of judges are final.

Judging criteria will include:

  • Strength of design ideas
  • Aesthetic and market appeal
  • Sensitivity to existing structure
  • Appropriate use of existing building elements
  • Function and flow
  • Craftsmanship
  • Overall presentation and compliance with entry requirements

Winning projects will be honored at the 2019 Colorado Awards on September 19th. Trophies will be presented to the Entrant of all Wining Projects. Award winning entries may be exhibited throughout the year at Custom Builder and Remodelers Council (CBRC) functions as well as other appropriate venues. Award-winning projects will be posted on www.thecareawards.com. Press releases and photos of winning projects will be shared via local, national and social media when applicable.

Remodeling contractors, architects, designers, homeowners, builders, developers, planners, kitchen and bath specialists, interior designers and other remodeling professionals may submit entries.
